Local processing starts with your device
A local operation uses a model or tool running on your computer. The first use may require downloading its files. After those requirements are available, the processing step can run locally when the selected feature supports it.
Local does not mean instant. Memory, processor capability, model choice and the length of the media all affect the work. Start with a small sample when checking whether a task fits your device.
Connected tasks use the provider you select
A connected translation or AI task sends the content required for that request to the selected provider. Its account, API key, limits and pricing belong to that service. A free desktop application does not make a provider’s paid usage free.
Before starting, inspect the selected provider and the content being processed. Use material you are comfortable sending under that provider’s terms and privacy practices.
Choose by the task
First decide what you need: transcription, translation, audio processing or another supported operation. Then check which options Loaderly provides for that task. Different operations can have different processing locations.
If keeping a file on the device is essential, use a local option where available and verify its requirements. If you choose a connected service, account for network availability and the provider’s usage limits before processing a long file.
Review the result in either case
Processing location is not a guarantee of accuracy. Local and connected tools can mishear a name, lose a nuance or produce an unsuitable suggestion. Compare the result with the original material before using it.
For captions, check numbers and negatives. For translated text, review the intended meaning and terminology. For audio processing, listen for damaged syllables as well as reduced noise.
Send useful information when a task fails
A useful support report includes the operation, your operating system, the app version and the visible error. Describe whether the problem happened while preparing a model, contacting a provider or processing the file.
Do not put API keys, passwords or private media in a public post or screenshot. Use Loaderly’s contact form and share only the information needed to reproduce the problem.
