Provider and key

  1. Open PreferencesSubtitles & AI.
  2. Choose OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, OpenRouter, Local or Custom.
  3. Enter your own API key when the provider requires one.

Keys are used for the current session. Your provider may charge for usage.

Models that stay current

Choose a suggested model or use Refresh models to query your provider. Model access varies by account. The Model field always accepts an exact custom ID. Local servers list the models you installed, not cloud presets.

Custom and local endpoints

For a local OpenAI-compatible server, choose Local. Its default address is:

http://localhost:11434/v1

For another service, choose Custom and enter its OpenAI-compatible HTTPS address. Add a key if the service requires one.

Troubleshooting and privacy

If discovery or translation fails, verify the endpoint, model ID, permissions and provider limits. Cancel preserves your original cues. Translation sends subtitle text only to the selected provider; consult that provider’s data policy.
