Add a download
- Paste a supported URL into Downloads.
- Put each link on its own line for a batch.
- Choose Best, a resolution limit or Audio only, then select Download now.
- Availability depends on the source site and the formats it provides.
Manage the queue
Filter All, Active, Queued, Completed or Failed. With manual start enabled in Preferences, links wait until you start them. A failed row shows its error and a Retry action.
Finished files appear in Library.
Folders and subtitles
PreferencesDownloads selects the default quality, start behavior and download folder. Platform folders group files by site. Enable subtitle downloads and choose a language profile before starting a video download.
Sources may not provide subtitles.
Choose quality for the result you need
Best asks the source for its best available format. A resolution limit avoids downloading a larger video than you need. Audio only skips the video picture. These choices are requests, not a promise that every source offers every quality.
Start with one link and check the result before adding a large playlist. If a source changes its behavior, check the yt-dlp update in Tools before retrying.
Understand a stalled or failed download
Queued means waiting to start; it is different from Failed. Check whether manual start is enabled, whether another job is active and whether the source link still opens. Retry the failed item after correcting the cause.
Downloaded media appears in Library; opening its folder helps distinguish a missing file from a library entry whose path no longer exists.
Choose videos from a YouTube playlist
Paste a YouTube playlist link, or a video link containing a playlist, then choose Download now. Loaderly reads the playlist before downloading and opens a selection window.
Choose all available videos, select the first N, search titles or check individual items. Private and unavailable items cannot be selected. The count includes selected items hidden by search.
Add to downloads queues only the selection using your chosen format; Cancel queues none. Your selection is retained while this app session remains open. Very large playlists show the first 1,000 entries.
Handle duplicate downloads
Before downloading, Loaderly checks for an existing file with the same title or source identity and media type in the destination and your known library locations. Audio and video are checked separately, even when an audio-only file uses an MP4 container.
Skip keeps the existing file without downloading another copy. Keep both adds a number to the new filename. Replace existing downloads into a temporary folder first and replaces the chosen file only after success; a failed download keeps the original.
Playlist selections use the same checks for each item.
Remove an entry or its file
The Downloads remove button, Library Remove file and Remove selected open the same choice. Remove from Loaderly clears the selected entries from Downloads and Library while keeping their files on your device.
Move to Trash asks your operating system to remove the files, then clears successful entries. Cancel makes no change. A failed file operation leaves its entry available with an explanation.
