Check, install or update

Open Tools and check versions. Install appears for a missing tool; Update appears when a newer version is available. Retry a failed check when online. Wait for active media jobs to finish before updating their tools.

Application updates

Tool updates are separate from Loaderly app updates. Microsoft Store updates the Windows edition. On Mac and Linux, open PreferencesAboutUpdates to check for a new app version.

Which tool does what?

yt-dlp reads supported download sources and retrieves media. FFmpeg processes and exports video/audio; FFprobe reads technical media information. Deno provides the JavaScript runtime used by supported download operations.

A missing component can block only the operation that needs it, so read the tool’s own status instead of reinstalling the entire app first.

Install, cancel and retry

Check for updates refreshes installed and available tool versions. Install retrieves a missing tool; Update replaces it with the available version. Watch the progress rather than clicking repeatedly.

Cancel stops an in-progress installation. A timeout or error should leave a message you can use to retry. Program updates and tool updates are separate: updating yt-dlp does not change the Loaderly app version.

When update checks cannot connect

Installed means Loaderly can run the tool. An update-check connection error does not remove or disable it. Repeated checks share the current request; recent results are reused briefly, and failed network checks wait at least a minute before trying the service again.

Check your connection and retry later. A service request limit may need more time. Updating the app and updating its tools remain separate actions.
