Choose the focus
Add Zoom, pause, and move its region over the subject on the full frame. Moving the box preserves the zoom amount. Resizing changes it. The focus can move vertically even when the stored region covers the frame height.
Scale and motion
Use a preset or the scale slider. Expand precise controls for numeric geometry and ease-in/ease-out timing. Preview result shows the bounded crop. Tracking can move the focus along a subject.
Sequential effects
Use consecutive Zoom intervals for different shots. Overlapping zoom effects are rejected by export; move or shorten them so only one zoom is active at a time.
Example: a deliberate close-up
Start with a short zoom interval around an important detail. Position the focus while paused, then preview the result to see the crop that viewers will receive. Increase the scale gradually; a large zoom cannot create missing source detail.
Adjust ease-in and ease-out so the transition suits the shot. Keep separate zoom intervals from overlapping before export.
