Measure and normalize loudness

  1. Open Editing workspace > Audio > Balance loudness. Enable Keep the output at a comfortable volume, then expand Advanced settings. Choose Measure source loudness to inspect integrated loudness and true peak.
  2. Choose a target loudness and peak ceiling, then use Preview output to listen to the processed result.
  3. Listen and compare the processed result before exporting. Loudness and noise settings can be kept in sound presets.

Reduce hiss and steady noise

  1. Open Reduce background noise. Start with Light. Expand Advanced settings for the amount and a source noise sample.
  2. If using a noise sample, choose a part of the source with noise and no speech or music. Up to five seconds are used to learn the noise profile.
  3. Render a preview. Listen for watery or metallic artifacts and lower the amount if the voice is damaged.

Steady-noise reduction and music separation solve different problems. Choose Without music or vocal separation when you want to reduce accompaniment.

Mix in another audio file

  1. Choose Add a soundtrack, then Add soundtrack and select a local audio file.
  2. In Advanced settings, set where it starts in the video, the position to read from in the added file, its duration and level.
  3. Keep a mix or enable Replace original audio. Lower soundtrack under original audio reduces the added track when the original becomes louder. Preview after any cuts or speed changes.

Create vocals and instrumental files

  1. Open Separate vocals & music. Prepare the optional model once and choose a results folder.
  2. Start separation and follow the task. Open vocals.wav and instrumental.wav from its completed result.
  3. Listen to both. Keep the original and use the result that suits your edit.

Processing is local and requires no subscription. Downloading the model needs an internet connection. Quality depends on the recording. Singing and traces of the other track can remain.
