1. Choose your starting theme

Open PreferencesGeneral. Choose Light or Dark from Theme, then open Themes and pick a palette. Changes appear immediately. The live preview shows how your colors work together.

2. Give each part its own colors

Open Colors. Change the workspace, panels, controls, text and accent. You can also give the sidebar, title bar, editor, menus and selection their own colors. Click a color square to open the picker, drag across the shade area, or type a HEX or RGB value.

The reset arrow beside a changed color restores that color only.

3. Adjust transparency without fading the text

Open Transparency. Each slider controls one surface: 0% is solid and 100% is fully transparent. Text and icons remain solid. Show desktop glass adds the system glass effect on macOS and Windows 11 22H2 or later.

Elsewhere, transparent surfaces blend with the app background. Reset transparency restores solid surfaces.

4. Make the layout comfortable to read

Open Layout to adjust interface text size, sidebar width, spacing, control corners, panel corners and outlines. Start with Comfortable spacing; choose Compact to fit more controls or Spacious for extra room.

Reset layout returns these choices to their defaults without replacing your colors.

5. Keep both light and dark modes readable

Light and dark modes have separate color palettes. Switch the Theme mode above the editor to customize the other palette. Check the text, color picker, menus and editor in both modes.

Visualizer artwork has its own colors because it becomes part of your exported video.

6. Save, import or share your theme

Import & share lets you copy the code, export a file, or import an existing theme. To publish from the app, choose Design & share a theme, give the draft a name and choose Publish in Loaderly.

The draft starts with your current settings. Themes work on Windows, macOS and Linux; their cards explain when desktop glass depends on system support.
