Track area

Pause on a clear frame inside the effect interval and fit the box tightly around a textured target. Choose Track area. Loaderly scans both directions within that interval and records movement.

Play the result to check drift.

Find and track face

This first detects a frontal face near the box, then follows it. Detection runs locally without uploading the video. Distant, tiny, side-facing or hidden faces may not be detected.

Use Track area or a clearer frame in those cases.

Manual points and recovery

  1. Choose Manual, move the playhead and drag the box to record a point.
  2. Add point here records an unchanged position.
  3. Clear motion removes the points.
  4. Cancel or a failed scan preserves the previous track.
  5. Split effects at camera cuts.

Preview and export precision

Play the tracked section and check that the mask stays over the target. Very fast movement or camera cuts may need shorter sections or manual corrections. Export a short sample and review it before sharing the full video.

Correct drift instead of repeating a long scan

If tracking drifts after a camera cut or obstruction, shorten the effect to the clear shot and track that part again. For a difficult moment, use Manual and add positions at useful frames.

Play between your points to inspect the interpolation. Clearing motion removes movement data, so keep Undo available when experimenting. A second effect for a new shot is easier to control than one long track across unrelated shots.
