Size and placement

  1. Choose Canvas, select a preset such as 9:16, 16:9, 1:1 or 4:5, or enter width and height.
  2. Position the image inside the target.
  3. Canvas applies to the entire video.

Fit modes

Fit keeps the whole image with space around it. Fill covers the canvas and crops excess. Stretch changes proportions. Original preserves pixel size, cropping when the canvas is smaller.

Background

Use black, white, a custom color or a blurred copy of the video behind a fitted image. Check both the source positioning and the final result.

Convert landscape footage to vertical

Choose 9:16. With Fit, the full landscape image stays visible and the remaining space uses your background choice. With Fill, the frame is covered but the left and right sides may be cropped.

Reposition the subject, inspect text near the edges and play the whole shot. Use a blurred background when retaining the complete image matters more than filling it by cropping.

Avoid accidental distortion

Stretch fits both dimensions independently and can make people or objects look wider or thinner. Fit and Fill preserve proportions. Original keeps source pixel size, which can crop the image on a smaller canvas.

Width and Height are output dimensions, while moving the image changes its composition inside those dimensions.
